Abstract
Study to evaluate the growth of Homalomena occulta (Lour.) Schott planting under the plantation forest's canopy and intensive planting on bare land in Thua Thien Hue province in 2023 purpose to provide scientific information for establishing technical contents for the development of concentrated product area. Research results show that Homalomena occulta (Lour.) Schott is able to grow well when planted under the plantation forest's canopy and intensive planting on bare land. Homalomena occulta (Lour.) Schott planting under the plantation forest's canopy survives well and data analysis shows that the canopy cover with 0.6 and NPK fertilization at a dose of 25 g tree-1 provides the plants to grow and develop effectively; after 11 months of planting, the survival rate reached 95.0%, trees with over 27.20 cm in tower height, 2.62 cm in rhizome height, 1.26 cm in root collar diameter and over 1.47 buds tree-1. Intensive concentration planting techniques of Homalomena occulta (Lour.) Schott with 75% light shading, watering once every 2 days at a dose of 2 liters m-2, and fertilizing with 50 g NPK tree-1 obtained a survival rate of over 98.3% and good growth with 28.31 cm in tower height, 3.44 cm in rhizome height, 1.76 cm in root collar diameter and 2.20 buds plant-1 after 11-month planting. Initial research has identified several appropriative techniques for plating Homalomena occulta (Lour.) Schott efficiency. It is necessary to continuously study the yielding and essential oil quality of this plant through intensive planting models to provide good techniques in reality.
